TYPES OF HEARING AIDS

Deciding on a hearing aid takes patience and an honest evaluation of the tempo of your lifestyle. Whether your hearing loss is mild or profound, our hearing care professionals will prescribe the best solution to improve your hearing, and meet the demands of your lifestyle.

There are four common styles of hearing aids: Each style has its own powerful features. Your Canadian Hearing Care professional will prescribe a custom, state-of-the-art hearing solution for your specific needs.
Behind-the-ear
Behind-the-ear (BTE)

BTE aids fit snugly behind your outer ear and are used by people of all ages. They are attached to a custom earpiece that is crafted to the unique shape of the outer ear.

In-the-ear
In-the-ear (ITE)

ITE aids fit completely in your outer ear. These are one-piece hearing instruments designed to fit in the ear’s concha, which is the bowl-shaped portion of the outer ear.

In-the-canal
In-the-canal (ITC)

ITC aids are customized to fit the shape of your ear canal. ITC aids occupy only a quarter of the concha, and significantly reduce the visibility of the hearing aid.

Completely-in-canal
Completely-in-canal (CIC)

CIC aids are the newest and smallest of all hearing aids. They fit deep inside your ear and are hidden in the shadow of the ear canal.
